Why Robotic Surgery?

Robotic surgery has revolutionized minimally invasive surgical treatment for prostate cancer. Compared to traditional surgical treatments, robot prostatectomy can been associated with:
                                 
- Faster recovery
- Less blood loss
- Less scarring (specifically bladder neck contractures)
- Lower positive surgical margin rate (that is, lower chance of leaving cancer behind)*

Robot assisted surgery is NOT recommended for all patients, and in some cases traditional surgical treatments or non surgical options are preferred.
